Anger and fear greet a miraculous return. Eren is under fire as he tries to recall what transpired inside the monster’s stomach. All that matters is to know if Eren is a Titan or a human.
Episode 10: Response: The Struggle for Trost, Part 6
Eren’s transformation causes doubt and fear in the Cadets as he finds it difficult to comprehend. There may be no chance to stop the Titans if Armin can’t persuade the commander to use Eren’s newly acquired abilities for the benefit of humanity.

Plans are made to seal the wall opening with Eren’s Titan abilities so Trost can be reclaimed. The Titans might not be the greatest threat to humanity, though, given the government’s history of bloodshed and the vocal dissidents within the military.

Eren is relocated by the Scouts to an old, deserted castle where he will continue his training. During her visit, Hange tells Eren that she has been subjecting two captured Titans to a number of trials and tests, and she needs his assistance with these experiments.

In the investigation to determine who killed the two Titan test subjects, everyone is a suspect. The Cadets choose which corps they will join in the interim, but many are unsure which branch to choose in light of the tragic events of the Trost attack.

The Scout Regiment comes across an intelligent Titan that is unlike any they have ever seen as they advance on Shiganshina. Armin, Jean, and Reiner try to put an end to it when they speculate that it’s actually a human who’s been transformed into a Titan.
Episode 18: Forest of Giant Trees: The 57th Expedition Beyond the Walls, Part 2
Levi takes the audacious choice to divide the ranks and send Eren and the supply wagons through a massive forest as the Female Titan rips through the Scout Regiment.

Eren’s memory of trying out his Titan powers provides insight into how his powers operate. Eren must make a tough choice as the Female Titan massacres Scout Regiment members: should he act out on his own or trust his friends?
Episode 20: Erwin Smith: The 57th Expedition Beyond the Walls, Part 4
We have the Female Titan in our possession. Erwin wants to identify the person who might be hiding there. In the meantime, the Scouts learn that one of their own is a spy, which is why Levi kept their real mission outside the wall a secret from everyone.
Episode 21: Crushing Blow: The 57th Exterior Scouting Mission, Part 5
After escaping Erwin’s trap, the Female Titan changes back into her previous form and pursues Levi’s group, who engage in a lethal skirmish in response.
Episode 22: The Defeated: The 57th Expedition Beyond the Walls, Part 6
Mikasa and Levi follow the monster in the hopes that Eren may still be alive inside of her after witnessing him being swallowed by the Female Titan. Emotions are running high as the Scout Regiment attempts to heal from the horrific losses of the operation.
Episode 23: Smile: Raid on Stohess District, Part 1
Eren is called to the capital along with his superiors following the unsuccessful scouting mission. After realizing how deeply ingrained corruption is in the Military Police, Annie decides to team up with Armin in an attempt to overthrow the government, but nothing is what it seems.
Episode 24: Mercy: Raid on Stohess District, Part 2
When the Female Titan’s identity is eventually made public, she goes on the rampage inside Wall Sina. Eren is reluctant to engage in combat with her, but Mikasa and Armin do so out of desperation to stop the enormous monster.
Episode 25: Wall: Raid on Stohess District, Part 3
In a battle that destroys Wall Sina’s Stohess District, Eren squares up against the Female Titan. Erwin has to face the fallout from his plan as the death toll rises and Annie attempts to climb over the wall.
